McIntire Park
An active railroad line separates the park into two discrete sections. The golf course occupies the east side, and new facilities now built on the west include a concession building, softball fields, little league fields, and playground; a proposed elevated crossing at the tracks remains unbuilt. The reconfigured entrance road provides badly needed access from adjacent neighborhoods as well as a connection to a major thoroughfare. Carefully planned grading creates terraced areas to accommodate ballfields while preserving a tree-lined knoll adjacent to the concession building.
