In July 2022, construction was completed on a new two-mile entrance road to Thomas Jefferson’s Bedford retreat. The road incorporates principles of parkway design, and the park surrounding it includes a system of trails, overlooks, and interpretive stops at significant historic, natural, and cultural features. The Parkway also includes five stream crossings which were designed to minimize impacts on the streams themselves, but still provide views along the streams where possible.
