Hollins University

Location

Roanoke, Virginia

In 1930, Lucy Beale Huffman, a Hollins alumna, gave a garden to the University in honor of her mother, Lucy Preston Beale, a loyal 1864 Hollins graduate. Based on A. A. Farnham’s original plan, the restored garden includes stone walls, walks, benches, bridges, streamside improvements, and native plantings. It serves the faculty, staff, and students of Hollins as well as the Roanoke community.
